MINIMUM STANDARDS
For equipment donated to Street Tech's CAT (Computer Apprenticeship Training) Program. The Following equipment is deemed "acceptable equipment". |
- CPUs - IBM-compatible working Pentium III
450 MHz or faster, with or without operating
system, software, 64 MB RAM, 10 GB hard drive.
- MAC G3 or higher (Apple) working
- File Servers - Pentium 450 or faster, the
CAT Program could also utilize drive arrays.
- 17" SVGA Color Monitors and up (Working
only)
- RAM, all recent varieties
- Hard Drives - 4 gig or larger for IBM compatible
machines
- Modems (56K, working only)
- Mice (working only)
- Keyboards (working only)
- Network Cards, 10/100BaseT, name brands like
3Com
- CAT5 Cables with Connectors, computer power
cords, modem RJ-11 telephone cables.
- 10/100 BaseT, hubs, switches and routers,
gateways, etc.
- Laser or Inkjet Printers, peripherals and
parts (working only)
- Digital cameras, scanners, Palm Pilots and
other Personal Digital Assistants. (working
only)
- Surge suppressors, power supplies-uninterruptible/standby.

If you have equipment that you are interested
in donating, and it is not referenced in the above
list of "acceptable equipment", please
contact us to inquire whether your equipment can
be accepted.
To find out the CPU speed of your PC:
- Method 1: Right after you turn on the PC,
first thing at boot up, system will state processor
name and CPU speed
- Method 2 : Use shareware such as MyCPU
1.13 to benchmark your PC
- Method 3: If all else fails, look on the motherboard.
CPU details are labeled on the actual chip.
- NOTE: It is more probable that equipment
from 2002 or later is Pentium III or higher.
