Executive Director


Barrie Hathaway has been the Executive Director of Street Tech since October 2004. A former supply chain management executive in the high technology sector, over the last twenty-five years, he has worked for computer and telecommunications firms including Sun Microsystems, Bay Networks and Marconi Communications. He is the president of the board of directors for Care Through Touch Institute, an appointed member of the Richmond Workforce Development Board, the Co-Chair of the Community Technology Network of the Bay Area and a member of the City of San Pablo’s ad hoc committee on community wireless. Barrie is a graduate of the University of San Francisco where he completed a B.S. in Organizational Development and a Master of Nonprofit Administration.

 

Director of Training


Joe McKinley serves Street Tech in a dual role as Director of Training and Manager of Information Systems. Combined with his former background in retail he brings nearly twenty years of management experience to the highly qualified team at Street Tech. He worked as Lead Technical Trainer at Techskills® in the heart of San Francisco’s financial district for three years where he implemented many new ideas in technical training. He has a number of technical certifications including A+, Cisco, Network+, and MCSE certifications in both Windows NT and Windows 2000 much of which was self-taught. He is responsible for new course offerings and developing materials for workshops featuring experienced career professionals. He is noted for successfully mentoring over 300 students through the exam certification process.

 

 

Grants Manager

Michelle Shutzer has been participating in and working with nonprofits: arts, media, social justice and community technology organizations. She has managed numerous outcomes-based programs, developed successful earned-income initiatives, and managed marketing campaigns that have positively impacted service delivery for community based organizations in San Francisco and the Bay Area. She served as corporate liaison at the Bay Area Video Coalition, steering committee for the San Francisco Information Technology Consortium,  the associate director for the Youth Media Initiative at the National Alliance of Media Arts and Culture (NAMAC), social net-worker for NetSquared, as well as an entrepreneur and business consultant to the commercial sector and social benefit corporations. Selected as a fellow of the Congress-Busndestag exchange, and Zero Divide Fellow, she participates with the Community Technology Network as well as social networks doing social good.  Her Masters in Nonprofit Administration is from the University of San Francisco.

 

Instructor: Computer Apprenticeship Class

Isaias Leiva teaches the Computer Apprentice Training program, bi-lingual free computer program among other programs. With 14 years in the work force diagnosing and repairing onboard computer systems he has in the past 3 years taken sixteen computer courses in pursue of an AA in Computer Network and Information Technology. A+, MOUS certified. Isaias is also a freelance technician servicing a number of clients in the bay area. He also works with iLearn Institute providing training using software such as: Rosetta stone, Microsoft Office, Windows Xp OS, Mavis Beacon and others. He has also worked at CCSF providing support to IT students. Isaias speaks Spanish, English and basic Russian.

Norman Trudeau has spent the past 40+ years working in the IT industry. Working over 20 years in Mainframes and moving on to Telecommunications. Norman has been a Network coordinator, Senior Teleprocessing Analyst and Manager for a Fortune 500 company in the financial district of San Francisco. Norman has been involved in teaching in the IT industry for over 20 years, most notably A+ and networking. Norman was Technical Training Coordinator involved in setting up and critiquing technical classes covering a wide variety of subjects to include programming and computer operations. He has taught at both public and private institutions such as Chabot College and Silicon Valley College and Martinez Unified School District. Norman is A+ certified and Novell certified.
